Last night a friend and I were talking about spring haircuts, and how a change feels so necessary when it starts to get fresh and sunny again. She got a very cute and stylish short cut, and I was debating getting bangs again. We sat in front of my mirror and tried to make pretend bangs from our pony tails (which has never provided an accurate preview, but I do it anyways)

but I think I found my 'bangs muse' today after reading Ryan's post on Francoise Hardy. She had the perfect balance of messy and pretty in them. Maybe I'll go get it done in a few weeks.

Last month I was in a lavender phase, but now I'm in a mood for blues. So calming and pretty. White and blue combinations always remind me of the women in my family and how much they like using it, so maybe it's the familiarity that attracts me too. I think this book would be perfect for my Mom. Pretty, pretty!

I was drooling over all the beautiful colors of Hermès this morning, and found that you can download instructions on more interesting ways of wearing your scarves! You can download 'Playtime with your scarf' underneath the color palette on the right. I love the belt ideas. So many easy ways to change and update the look of scarves you've already got.

Note: These instructions will work on any budget!

I'm in such a comfy, dreamy mood today. I was laying on my bed reading this gorgeous issue of Vogue Living Australia and I so badly want to go and see The Water Hole exhibit by Gerda Steiner and Jorg Lenzinger at the ACCA. They make the most incredible installations, it would be so relaxing to lay under one. The objects and colors they use reminded me of Tamar's Etsy shop and Selina Lake.

I miss our big warm kitchen at home so whenever I see a pretty cozy one like this one from desire to inspire I wish I could climb into the picture and bake in it. And the bathroom photo was too pretty not to include, I love those mirrors and how they can glam-ify almost any room with their sparkle. There's lots more on elements of style!

also, the project I've been working on this past week here!

It's a rainy day, and I'm about to go out to and get my printed matter project done. Once that's finished, I think I'll come home and bake something and watch Ugly Betty. What a relief. These two Etsy crafts are sooo cute, the monkeys make me smile every time :)

I had to post this amazing walk in closet idea by Robin Sillau, former assistant to the late and great Domino Magazine living in Brooklyn. What a good idea for a small room. Holly did a great interview with her. Robin's blog is both inspiring and hilarious, definitely check her out!

short supply

I'm getting more and more anxious for springtime, and desperate to put on some shorts after finding these combinations of tucked in fronts and long sleeved tops. I really want a higher waisted white pair. I'll be on the look out!

I'm exhausted, but accomplished a lot I think. I stayed up late-late last night to finish a layout for my design class, and have mid-terms on Monday, so I'm going to need some quiet time very soon...I'm so much looking forward to the winter break/apartment hunt.

have a nice weekend!

Ever since I've started reading the blog Elements of Style (one suggested by my Mom) I've been addicted to it and wanting to take a trip to Boston. Erin always shows the nicest shops there, and I'd agree with her when she says she would not mind to moving in to this store which is the epitome of chic, named Looc. It's like an exact mix of every single ingredient to the most beautiful space in my mind. So pretty.

I truly believe that I'm a Swedish girl at heart. There was enough evidence in my love for Ikea, white, H&M, The Cardigans, and some long browsing sessions on Swedish real estate websites, but after looking through photographer Anna Kern's portfolio, I think it's safe to confirm. Now I'm just waiting to wake up a blonde.

Today was an icy, icky day and I'm feeling tired and sick, but it was nice anyways. Ryan kept me company and we made French toasted bagels with strawberries and yogurt and watched the very silly but funny movie Mannequin, followed by a long much needed nap.

I love this series titled Halloween in Harlem by Amy Stein. When I first saw them they reminded me more of street style models than trick-or-treaters. Very funny and cute.
