Wallpaper

Beautiful photographs by local artist Angela Carlsen of the old Halifax infirmary. It's fascinating the way she's taken such an eerie subject, and used light and vibrant colors to give it life again.

I will not be going to Eastern Europe this spring. But when I do travel, I want to collect all the Wallpaper* City Guides. I've seen them at Club Monaco, a lot of information fits inside.

Phaidon Press
books are all so nice.

Sunday Boring Sunday

It really is just a boring Sunday. I haven't got any homework, so I don't know what to do with myself. I just spent the morning on the couch reading (more looking at the pictures) a Maison Française magazine. I love how unique everything is.

I'm also just wishing I had a desk to work on in my room, though I could never fit one. I really like the glass top one from Ikea so you can see everything you're working with.

Pretty Alert!

I've just discovered the Elie Saab spring Couture Collection.
So. Beautiful. Each dress was prettier than the last.

I "ooo!'d" every click.

The same for the Ready-To-Wear. I think I have a new favorite. I guess I was feeling glamorous this morning.

DupliKate

I was looking at some Topshop things online on the weekend, and wish I had access to one. Despite the criticism Kate Moss has been getting about her "unoriginal" designs, I really like most of it.

I wasn't able to find the documentary on Marla, it should be out in the spring. I'm the most excited right now for Persépolis. It looks like a nice story, and Marji is adorable.

Marla

I have fallen in love with the abstract paintings by the little and talented Marla Olmstead. I found them quite by accident last night. When I did I remembered seeing a tiny article on her in an Elle magazine over the holidays but forgot to look more into it. I'm glad I stumbled upon her again. I'll try and find the documentary My Kid Could Paint That today, I'd love to make her my topic for my Writing for the Arts paper.

"Imperial Cities"

I'm hopeful that this spring I'll finally be experiencing world travel. I have an opportunity to see the Imperial Cities of Eastern Europe: Prague, Budapest, and Split. I'm still making the decision, but my fingers are crossed. Maybe I'll know by next week.

Windy Wednesday

It was all pain no gain today when I decided to walk home instead of wait for the bus, as it is one of the windiest days. All I'd like to do right now is cuddle in bed and watch Heima. A documentary of the band Sigur Rós on their tour in Iceland. I can't wait to watch it.

Phi-rst Post

Now that the first week of back to school preparation is finished, I'll finally begin one of these. Over the Christmas break I spent some time drooling over Stella McCartney's Spring collection, and before that in person at Mills over her addition to Adidas. Keeping in mind that by the time I can afford her clothes, I'll be too old and saggy to wear them. Wishful thinking indeed.

I've also been looking at a lot of things by Phi lately. I like him too, but not as much as Stella who I love every day of the week.
