Looking on LivingEtc this morning I found so many neat hallways in the galleries section.

Top Five

At Chapters over the winter break I saw so many incredible books. One of them being The Principles of Uncertainty by Maira Kalman. I love her illustrations, I've seen some of her children's books before and covers for The New Yorker.

Also, inspired by John Cusack's character in the movie High Fidelity, I decided to make a list of my top five dream jobs. The order seems to change every day.

My Top 5 Dream Careers

1. Art Gallery Curator/Director

2. Interior Designer, Photographer, or both

3. Publisher for beautiful books

4. Creating print layouts for a magazine

5. Graphical papers and stationaries artist

Postponed Pretty

I really want to bring skirts and dresses back into my life. All the messy work I do in school has turned me into a Plain Jane, and dressing prettily is inconvenient. These are just a few a favorites I've been looking at. I'll try to make up for being boring over the summer for the next four years.

I also found this Little Black Dress Shop today and thought it was a great idea. A place in Toronto with only LBD's from different designers and various styles.

The Hollywood Issue

Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz

I had my usual supplies for my short flight home on Friday night: Water bottle, Mentos, and Vanity Fair. I found this months issue especially good. I loved the iconic Alfred Hitchcock stills re-created by some of the current best actors and actresses. My favorite being Marion Cotillard as Janet Leigh in Psycho.

Inspiration from Germany

I really like the shape of these flower vases. Sculptural but simple.

These look comfy. I often work on the floor so they'd be perfect.

I wish I could fall a-schlafen in this bed. A lot of white in a living space always feels good to me. It was hard to navigate at first in German, but the layout and photography are quite beautiful. Maybe my Mom will agree translate a bit for me while I'm home.

From Impressionen, a German design site found on one of my favorite blogs decor8.

The Dead of Winter

I did some extensive online window shopping today while I was feeling sick, and was the most satisfied with Anthropologie. So much to look at, and so out of my reach as I lay here like a sloth in pajamas. Extra desirable.

I wish I could teleport my body to the hammock in their catalogue.

Addressing Fashion

I wish I were able to go see blog.mode: addressing fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's a presentation of approximately 65 costumes and accessories from the 18th century to the present. Each individual costume and accessory will be posted on the blog with commentary from the curators and contemporary designers. Anyone can comment on the postings from while the exhibition is on until April 13th, including a “blogbar” of eight computers in the museum.
